Machine Learning and Data Science doesn't remain new terms anymore. Though machine learning and artificial intelligence existed from around 1960s, data science was not well known term until 2012.  But within the span of 10 years time, data science and data scientist have been the most used terms in the academics and industry. Every year, there is a demand of thousands of data scientists around the world.  Understanding the increasing demand of artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science experts, we started a community called machine learning and data science network (MLDSN) Nepal in 2018. 

MLDSN Nepal is dedicated to aware students, entrepreneurs,  researchers and digital experts with the breakthrough technologies in artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science.  This is created as a non-profit community where all the members share knowledge and learn from each other. We welcome everyone to join the network, organise events, write blogs and promote machine learning data science among the community. 

Who we are

We are a team of academicians, data scientists, engineers, artificial intelligence enthusiasts and  community of people committed to solving advance machine learning and data science problems . We also actively work to promote machine learning and data science and its applications in day to day life. 

Our Mission

• To create a networking platform for machine learning (ML) and data science (DS) enthusiasts.

• To organise activities, workshops, guest lectures, seminars, conferences and major events related to ML and DS in Nepal and outside Nepal.

• To publish blog posts, articles and well written and peer reviewed papers related to ML and DS.

• To promote research works done by students and researchers by providing them funding and necessary support for the publications in international conferences and journals when qualified.

• To promoting IT and digitalisation for the rural development of Nepal.

A bit of History

• This community was initiated by organising a 3 day national workshop on Machine learning and data science from May 9-11, 2018. Though machine learning and data science was quite new then in the context of Nepal, we were very much excited and motivated to continue this project because of the overwhelming participation and interest shown by the participants in the workshop. 

• Since then we conducted various online webinars by inviting world leaders or experts on data science and machine learning to share their views on how the field is evolving, what is the opportunity that people working in Nepal can involve and own.

• Each year (since-2018), we organise a national workshop on machine learning and data science (NWMLDS), which is the only flagship workshop on machine learning and data science in Nepal. Such workshop will be conducted normally for 5 days and is aimed to students, researchers, data scientist and startup co-founders.
